Dear liz,
wishing you all the very best of luck for Tuesday. Will be thinking of you and hoping that it all goes well. I take it that the MRSA was taken in to you or did you come home with it? I am so sad that this has happened as well as everything else you have endured lately.
I will be sending you lots of positive thoughts on Tuesday,
Love Eleanor x

Oh thanks girls I havent liked to say much, but just shared this with Marlene since I was told unless a huge fuss is made it is assumed all is well, when it clearly isnt from all the tests, scans, xrays etc! All I know is that I was clear of MRSA until mid/late February when the swab results changed. The hospital is really casual about it! They do put it down to overuse of antibiotics which also made a big mess of my gut, biopsies now show malabsorption problem. This could have been around before though. I'm OK, just very pleased the wait is nearly over so I can hopefully get rid of infection, move on with life, a lot of which has been put on hold rather! But it could be much worse as always. Take care all, Love Lizxx

Hi Liz,
How awful for you that this has now affected your gut. I hope there is something you can do to help that. Only you would say it could be worse! I'm sure none of us would want to be any worse than how you are suffering at the moment! Wishing you all the very best for Tuesday,
Love, Doreen xx

Dear liz,
I hope that there is something can be done to help your gut. Is it giving you pain or is that an understatement? The sooner the operation is done the better. You need a break and I hope to goodness that you get it now. How long will you be kept in after the operation?
Thinking of you,
Eleanor x

Hi Liz
I would very much like to wish you all the success for tomorrow and hope you will soon be up and about.
We have both had some rotten luck recently haven't we? I got a nasty ulcer on the lateral side of my right ankle last August and had to have it cleaned and dressed twice a week by the district nurses. Its only now that it appears to be on the mend.
It seems that your body hits rock bottom and cant take any more medication. I know I sometimes feel that this.
Now you take care of yourself and do as you are told!!
Love Marlene xx

Hello it's me again,
I got a call from the surgeon's secretary at 2pm then the surgeon at 3pm, cancelling tomorrow's surgery!
The reason given was that the pain and swelling has spread into my neck(where I have two metal plates) and the anaesthetist is worried about the intubation.
I have to go and have more tests on Thursday and hopefully if the neck is not infected they will proceed with surgery. Not thinking about the other scenario.
I was gutted naturally as had just finished packing, but I am assured it is for my safety, so what can I say. They had allocated the whole morning in theatre for me so I feel quite bad about that. (I'm so good at guilt!)
Jenni, I am told 30% of the population carry MRSA up their nose and on their skin and it isnt a problem. However when swabs detect it in a deep wound it is a very different matter and the wound is very difficult to heal and that is the worry. I didnt have it in the wound incision until mid-February, though it has been open since December.
Thank you all for your ongoing support, it means a lot. I know you understand having been through so much of the same yourselves.
Take care everyone, Love Liz xx

Oh no! I am so sorry Liz but as you say it is for your own safety. Lets hope that Thursday's tests give some reassurance and the operation can go ahead. It is so upsetting for you as you have been waiting for such a long time.
Thinking of you with lots of love and hope for Thursday.
